Recently, construction sites have seen a gradual increase in large fires caused by welding operations. In response, a method for non-welding truss construction has been developed and has garnered attention. This method has been evaluated to accurately identify the needs of industry, and has been found to comply with government measures and related acts for fire prevention at construction sites. Reports show that most fires and explosions at construction sites occurred during the process of welding and fusing for the past three years. Fire causes not only massive physical and human damages, but also immeasurable damage due to construction delays.
To prevent fire accidents, a fire supervisor is deployed to the following construction sites where the risks of ignition are high: welding and fusing on flammables; flammable gas plumbing and cylinders; and urethane formed insulators, etc. For this reason, cost-reduction effects of fire management are expected. Amidst this environment, Shinsung C&S Co., Ltd. actively explored ways to install trusses at construction sites without welding. The solution is a non-welding system. This system allows for fastening of screws and bolts by using connection device to horizontal and vertical structural steel pipes. Fixed brackets can be inserted and fastened with use of the depressed surface of the central part of a steel section.
